He'd taken his sunglasses off for a bit while posing for the cameras along the media gauntlet, but promptly plunked them back on his face as he wandered over to sign the first round of autographs and photos with the fans at the fence. My suspicion is that this tiny frown is less about his mood and more about him trying to focus his vision on what he's holding in his hand; I'd long suspected he might be far-sighted, given how far away he's always held anything he reads, and that was confirmed last fall when he posed for a photo with his friend backstage after a play with a pair of reading glasses tucked into the front of his shirt. This stoic mask didn't last long, it cracked into sweet smiles as soon as he reached over those flowers to get fans' phones to take selfies for them.
I love that while his eyes are hidden, the fall of light across his face reveals the curve of his cheekbone through the right lens of his shades. Other fun details include that one silver hair running from the peak of his hairline to his left temple, the fine webbing of his currently quiescent crinkles fanning over his cheekbone from behind the lens of his sunglasses, the curve of the bridge of his nose, the pattern of creases on his lips that show he's pressing them together slightly and pulling at the corners just a bit, and the long curly white hair in his beard. And of course there's the halo of fine flyaways we always see at Venice, evidence of the journey by water taxi, when the breeze gets to run it's gentle fingers through akgroomer's careful work.

About 15.5 hrs of painting time. I had meant for this one to be faster but then got sucked into rendering all those beautiful highlights on his hair and it kind of went from there.
